Marilyn Taggart did undergraduate work as a piano performance major at Oberlin College and Converse College. After graduating with  “Distinction in Performance”, Marilyn performed and taught privately for ten years.  She then entered graduate school at Catholic University for a Masters in Piano Pedagogy with an intense focus on both old and new approaches to piano technique.  In addition to brain/body studies with Thomas Mastroianni at Catholic U., she attended Taubman Institutes in 1978 and 1981 and studied privately with Taubman teacher Robert Mumper.
                In addition to presenting workshops and Suzuki Institute teaching, Ms. Taggart was a contributor to the book Teaching Suzuki Piano: 10 Teachers’ Viewpoints that is widely used in Suzuki training, and the author of an article about technique and beginners which will appear in the Summer 2007 issue of Keyboard Companion. She currently teaches a full studio in Vermont.
