Cari Plachy Dinglasan received her education and performance training from DePaul University. She has been fortunate enough to win some Chicago area competitions which include; the Farwell Award with the Musicians Club of Women, the Primavera and Maude Miller Award from the Bel Canto Foundation, the Evanston Music Club, and the Park Forest Singers. Her favorite operatic roles include Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Yum-yum in The Mikado, Rosina, in The Barber of Seville, and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance. In addition to opera, Cari has just begun her first season with Chicago a cappella singing a variety of styles of music. Cari has been teaching with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on site and in their outreach program since 1998. Last school year, she began teaching at Child’s Voice School, an oral school for the deaf and hearing impaired.
