Michael Dean is Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University, where he teaches applied piano, class piano, and coordinates the piano pedagogy curriculum. He also maintains an active schedule as workshop clinician, adjudicator, solo performer and collaborative artist, and often serves as summer faculty at various music camps throughout the United States. Mr. Dean previously taught at the Wheaton College Conservatory. His principal teachers include Alan Chow, Edward Gates, Jane Magrath, Terri Manno, and Gary Sipes, and he has performed in master classes with Angela Cheng, Josef Kalichstein, and Thomas Lanners. He is currently pursuing the DMA degree in Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, where he also received his Masters degree. He holds Bachelors degrees in Piano Performance and Mathematics from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
