Dr. Gerald Anderson has been full-time member of the music faculty at Olivet Nazarene University, in Bourbonnais, IL since 1978. At ONU, he teaches private and class piano, as well as courses in music theory, music literature, and music history. In 1989, Dr. Anderson was recognized as the Faculty Member of the Year at Olivet.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Anderson performs extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, church musician, adjudicator, and clinician. In 2002, Dr. Anderson recorded his first solo CD, of sacred piano music, entitled Classic Hymns.  Dr. Anderson has served as judge for the finals of the Kankakee Symphony Orchestra Piano Competition, the Mendelssohn Music Club of Rockford, and the Roberta Savler Piano Competition, in Chicago. Since 2003, Dr. Anderson has been performing solo sacred piano music for the interdenominational ministry of the Chicago Sunday Evening Club, and its television program “Thirty Good Minutes”, aired on WTTW Channel 11.
Gerald Anderson holds a B.S. degree from Southern Nazarene University, Bachelor of Music and M.M. degree in piano pedagogy from Texas Tech University, and the D.M.A. in piano performance from the American Conservatory of Music, in Chicago. Dr. Anderson is a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and is a certified teacher through the MTNA.
